With over three hundred appearances on Home & Away, Tim Franklin is bringing his wealth of experience back to the northern rivers area. His transition to dramatic TV was marked alongside international actor Tim Roth and Callan Mulvey in "The Last King of the Cross." Tim has recently made strides in the world of feature films, starring alongside Levi Miller & Travis Jeffery in the upcoming war epic "Before Dawn," scheduled for release in 2024. But more recently, he shared the screen with Ryan Gosling in the much-anticipated David Leitch blockbuster, "The Fall Guy."

We could not be more excited to add Tim to our roster here at The Actors
Room Byron Bay.

From Tim,

"I have been working with actors of all ages and levels for over a decade and have worked with some of the finest Australian and international directors. I have witnessed what works and what doesn't.
Have tried and tested. Being an Actor is a surreal experience, we are asked to explore emotional and physical places which make most people uncomfortable. To be an actor is uncomfortable. To even get a job is to defy the odds. To be ready to give your most grounded, relaxed, and authentic performance you need to have your "Actors Muscle” in good condition. This is what this course is for. Consider it your gym. (minus all the hypermasculine energy) This is a safe place to play, talk shop, work on scenes and succeed, but more importantly “fail” and know that you are supported no matter the outcome."

Course Overview

This course starts by refining the basics and then delves into techniques Tim has honed throughout his career. Covering script analysis, character breakdown, journaling, voice work, on-screen subtleties, self-taping, and understanding industry expectations.

Tim will specifically address the crucial aspect of "fast turnaround TV," equipping actors with practical techniques and tools to handle the pressures of being in front of a camera. Additionally, focusing on you, the actor. Through instrumentals, he tailors guidance to help you develop as an actor, preparing you to confidently step onto any set feeling prepared, confident, and, in his opinion, most importantly, relaxed.

Regardless of your acting experience level, this course offers valuable insights. Whether you are new to the acting world or are an experienced Actor, Tim has structured this course to help develop your craft and add a few extra tools to the belt.

This is a place to play, talk shop, work on scenes and succeed, but more importantly to know you are safe to take risks and you are supported no matter the outcome.

“The real work we do as actors is the work we do between gigs”
