ABOUT KIM FARRANT
ACCLAIMED DIRECTOR & ACTING COACH

Award winning Australian writer/director, Kim Farrant is known for her uncanny ability to illicit truthful performances. Kim’s directorial debut, the mystery drama Strangerland, was nominated for the Grand Jury prize at Sundance Film Festival in 2015 where it played in World Dramatic Competition and starred Nicole Kidman, Hugo Weaving and Joseph Fiennes. She then directed the psychological thriller Angel of Mine starring Noomi Rapace, Yvonne Strahovski and Luke Evans (Lionsgate, Hulu release).

Kim latest film The Weekend Away, for Netflix (starring Leighton Meister and Ziad Bakri) released as the Number 1 streamed film worldwide on Netflix for its first ten days and has been seen by over 170 million viewers. Kim is producing and directing The Little Utopia, Co-produced by Rachel Winters (Dallas Buyers Club) and written by Clara Salaman (Too Close). She is an EP on The Resurgents, written by Luke McKenzie, produced by Max Botkin (What Happened to Monday). She has also directed Australian TV shows documentaries including the feature length doc Naked on the Inside which sold to Showtime, Sundance Channel, CBC, SBS and more.

Kim is currently in pre-production for her new feature film, Isa.
